I started composing original music, particularly for film and video games, in college. I work primarily in Logic Pro X, but have experience with Reaper and Pro Tools, and with other audio tools such as AudioSculpt, iZotope, Equator, and Melodyne. Below are some of my undergraduate projects, and I'll continue adding samples as I create them!
The second, "By the light of a Dusty Streetlamp," is a trombone solo, performed by Clayton DeWalt. Unfortunately I don't have a recording of this piece at the moment, but I've attached the score.
Films by Alex Cohen
These are two of my roommate's undergraduate short film projects: Honor Among Thieves (2017), and Swedish Fish Man (2016). I had the chance to compose, produce, and edit the scores for these. Both were incredibly fun and totally different projects, and I'm super excited for more projects with Alex to come.
In the Spring of 2016, I studied electroacoustic composition with renowned composer Hans Tutschku at the Harvard University Studio for Electroacoustic Composition (HUSEAC). I studied electroacoustic composition in history and in practice, and my final composition was a stereo piece that I then performed on the Hydra Loudspeaker Orchestra, a 40-speaker system controlled from a centralized 32-channel mixing board. This is a piece about the places our minds go after a trauma. Listen for spaces of escape, memories popping in and out of other memories, and moments of reflection in an effort to find peace.
